I first met Meg Cavanaugh in London, 2014 on the set of the Punch Drunk immersive theatre show The Drowned Man. I was MD of the show and band leader of the house band, Walk of Terror and Meg sang regularly with the band on many shows. After a few months, when the show closed, having bonded on a shared love of Hoagy Carmichael and other scions of the Great American Songbook and sharing a love of laid back bluesy jazz gigs, we decided to do a few regular shows together and see how it went.

Over the next few months we developed a strong repartee and a set list ranging through the obscure and not so obscure - covering all the best aspects of 20th century American popular music. Having established a solid groove together, mostly playing the bars and dives of Hackney, we decided to record an accurate rendition of the sound we were making and write a couple of original songs especially for the occasion.

Towards the end of 2015 we decamped to the louche environs of Space Eko studios in East London for a day and recorded the seven songs you can hear on this site - a picture postcard of a perfect day enjoying the fruits of their labours, laying down a vibe perfected over the previous months, a late night listen for mellow cats and woozy lovers.
